This was a tough lesson I needed to learn.
I was approached on Instagram by an SMM ( social media marketer) and was proposed to get help growing my personal brand on social media. Majority of the time I use my logic and never really care to engage in these DM’s but this one was different. His approach was organic. It didn’t feel like an automated message and really felt genuine. So I entertained to listen to his proposal.
He told me everything I wanted to hear during our conversation. Just like any great salesmen, he sold me in and used my emotion to make an impulse buy on the spot. My judgment may have been slightly off since it was extremely late at night. But none the less, I made an impulse buy with the thought of hopefully taking the easier road.
What I mean by taking the easier road is that I wanted an out of putting in the hard work. His strategy of growing my social media platform was everything I already knew. TikTok algorithm is user based and puts the content in front of the targeted audience. Your Instagram needs to be re branded and targeted on a specific niche. You need to create video content targeting a specific niche and utilize all your other social media platforms to leverage your channel.
I knew all this. But deep down I wanted to pay the money down to get it all streamlined. Not putting in the effort myself. It was stupid mistake I made. It costed me $300.00. It’s not a crazy amount of money, but $300 is still $300.
A similar sort of events happened with Ethan’s Dropshipping agency. I signed up to his agency to get my Dropshipping business automated and working for me. WITHOUT ME PUTTING ANY FUCKNG EFFORT ONCE AGAIN. This time it costed me a total sum of $600.00.
Although it hurts to take this L…
I understand my mistake and learned a crucial lesson. I learned that nothing is given. Especially in business. There is no easy way out. Everything needs to be earned with sweat equity. That’s the only way you can succeed in whatever you do. My laziness costed me close to $1000 . lost. Gone. No getting it back.
But what I did get in return was the hard lesson that I will learn from this. I am glad I experienced this lesson at the earlier stage of my entrepreneurial journey. I will never make the same mistake again, twice.
